Description:

• Boeing Lockheed Martin Corp′s Atlas V launch vehicle with the new American Boeing CST-100 Starliner is planned from Cape Canaveral. The launch of the Orbital Flight Test-2 mission to the International Space Station was scheduled for Friday evening, but was postponed to a backup date due to weather conditions.
• The first stage of the American Atlas V launch vehicle is equipped with an RD-180 two-chamber liquid-propellant rocket engine developed and manufactured by NPO Energomash.
  To date, 122 RD-180 engines have been delivered to the United States. A total of 93 launches of Atlas family rockets with these engines were carried out: 6 at Atlas III and another 87 launches at Atlas V. All of them were recognized as successful, which is unique for the world cosmonautics!
• For 21 years, NPO Energomash′s engines as part of the Atlas rocket have provided the output of such unique payloads as: NASA′s automatic interplanetary stations "Martian Reconnaissance Satellite" for exploring Mars, "New Horizons" for studying Pluto and its satellite, "Juno" for exploring Jupiter, Mars rovers "Curiosity", "Perseverance", etc.
